The Ausangate Trek is the true image of the high Andes, the Incas worshipped this sacred mountain. Ausangate is considered an apu, a holy mountain, traditionally a place of worship and offerings from pre-Inca times.
If you’re lucky there is a chance of encountering condors, and other Andean fauna such as Andean fox. Although you will be hiking at altitudes of 5,100 m, this is a superb trip for seasoned trekkers who love a true outdoor adventure. From Cusco, fly from the Andes to Puerto Maldonado, a jungle town located in the lowlands of the Amazon. Travel by motorized canoe to our eco-lodge in the Lake Sandoval Area. |
