Day: 2 Arrive Cusco (Overnight in Cusco hotel).

Fly from Lima to Cusco. Transfer to hotel and meet your tour leader who will be with you during your trip. The rest of the day is free to relax and acclimatise. Day: 3 Cusco – Patabamba – Huchuyqosqo (camping).

Early this morning we travel for 1½ hours to the town of Patabamba (3700m), where we will briefly visit the Artisan market. Later we will take a walk along an old horse trail where we will observe the wild vegetation and appreciate the remains of the Inca Path. As we reach the community of Siwa we will ascend gradually. The ascent increases the difficultly of the walk and we will arrive in 1 hours time at the Pukamarka Pass (4200m). Throughout, this hike has a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley and the Inca towns of Pisac, Coya, Lamay, Granary and all the mountains that surround the sector. After the lunch we will descend (approx 1½ hours) to reach at the Archaeological Site of Huchuy Qosqo crossing
by the Leon Punku Canyon where we can appreciate the Inca path. Later in the afternoon we visit the archaeological Park that will also serve as our camping place for the night. Approx walk. 5 hours.

Day: 4 Huchuy Qosqo – Chinchero – Pisaq (Overnight Pisaq).

After the breakfast we begin our trek crossing the small village of Huchuy Qosqo by way of the cultivated farmlands. We walk the stoned covered path until Huallata Pass (4300 m), where we will have a panaramic view of the valley as well as of the mountain range of Vilcanota. We begin our descent (approx. 2 hours) until we reach our lunch place which is near to the town of Kuper Alto. Here we will take our bus in the direction of Pisaq (3000m). Tonight we spend the night in a hotel in the town of Pisaq. Approx. walking time 5½ hours.

Day: 5 Sacred Valley (Overnight Aguas Calientes).

Travel through the Sacred Valley and visit the towns and Inca ruins of Pisaq and Ollantaytambo. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Ollantaytambo and afterwards get a chance to learn a little about the local people and their way of life. In the afternoon we catch the train to Aguas Calientes where we stay for the night in a hotel.

Day: 6 Visit Machu Picchu. (Overnight Cusco).

Rise early to take advantage of viewing Machu Picchu in the early morning light, the best time to view the ‘Lost City of the Incas’.
There is free time to explore on your own after our tour, and the opportunity to climb Wayna Picchu, which will allow you to view Machu Picchu from a different vantage point. In the afternoon we return to our hotel in Cuzco, by train, then bus, arriving in the evening.

Today we have an early morning pick up from the hotel and 4 hours travelling by private bus ride to the small village of Tinki (3820 meters), located in a valley south of Cusco. We pass through the beautiful Cusco countryside and several traditional villages, before reaching the small town of Pinchimuro, where we have lunch and meet the rest of our team (handlers and horses/mules). After lunch we hike to the village of Pacchanta (4200m) our campsite for the night. Set up the camping gear and then, if you wish you can enjoy the natural thermal spring until dinner time. After breakfast we begin our climb from where we can enjoy wonderful vistas not only of Ausangate itself, but of many nearby snow peaks Hatun Punta, Puca Punta and Qolque Cruz. After plenty of time at the top of the pass we continue descending to have the opportunity to see beautiful lakes and multi-coloured lagoons. We may even be lucky enough to see alpacas and the elusive vicuna. After lunch and a rest we hike to our camping. place at the Pachaspata (4750m). Approx. walking time 5 hours.

Day: 10 Pachaspata – Chilca Phinaya.

Today we will encounter the Jampa Pass, our first pass of over 5000m, from which we have the privileged view of the beautiful snow-covered summits of the Vilcanota mountain range. All that remains is for us to descend to the valley of Phinaya 4500m where we set up camp for the night. Approx. walking time 5 hours.

Day: 11 Chilca Phinaya – Puca Cocha.
