Outline Itinerary: |

Day 1: Sacred Valley Tour (Overnight Ollantaytambo).
|
Travel through the Sacred Valley and visit the towns and Inca ruins of Pisaq and Ollantaytambo (overnight). Get a chance to learn a little about the local people, their way of life and their traditional weaving techniques.

DAY 2: OLLANTAYTAMBO – KM104 – MACHU PICCHU. |
Early morning departure to the station to catch the train that will take you to the Km104, starting point of the Inca trail. The path starts after the control point with the visit to the Inca ruins of Chachabamba (7095 ft / 2150 m),then ascend along the left flank of the Urubamba river valley for four hours to Wiñaywayna (8910 ft / 2700 m), the vegetation in the beginning is not very abundant and the temperature is very high, getting higher it gets little breeze and after a couple of hours you will be walking along the cloud forest area where the temperature is nice and cool until a waterfall from where you start hiking three sets of steep stone staircases along the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna (8910 ft / 2700 m) which is the most spectacular of the Inca ruins that are found along the Inca Trail. In the afternoon we walk for two more hours on the trail that goes through the forested mountain Machu Picchu with spectacular views of the cliffs and the Urubamba river canyon to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) from where you get to see Machu Picchu for first time. Upon arrival to Machu Picchu (8085 ft / 2450 m) you take the bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes where you overnight in a hotel. |

DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO |
You will take the first bus to Machu Picchu to enjoy the sunrise. Then our guide will show you Machu Picchu on a tour including all the major attractions of the city, after the visit you will have free time to enjoy Machu Picchu on your own before you take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and later take the train to Ollantaytambo town located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where a private transport will be waiting for you to take you back to Cusco city. |
